Mr. Tate recognized as Supervisor of the Year

In Alabama, each conservation District board comprises of 5 board supervisors. These members volunteer their valuable time to assist in the leading the direction and activities of their local Conservation District for the betterment of the land but also their fellow communities. These members do not receive any compensation for their generosity. Such selflessness needs to be acknowledged every now and then; therefore, Jefferson County Conservation District is proud to recognize our Board Chairman, Tim Tate for his dedication and award of Supervisor of the Year for 2022.

Mr. Tate joined the District Board in 2015 and has continued to be passionate, committed, and a great example of stewardship since day one. He has continually been supportive of all District programs and helped to facilitate new ones since he began his service as a supervisor. Additionally, he has been a local FSA representative assisting to promote FSA programs. He has also been a NRCS programs participant in both EQIP and CSP programs as well as a Conservation Incentive Program (CIP) recipient installing a heavy use area. He also serves as the Secretary-Treasurer to the Jefferson County Cattleman's Association. He continually helps to spread the conservation message in his community and inform local farmers and landowners of available opportunities to them. He consistently attends every board meeting available as scheduled, facilitates relevant and intriguing discussions, and presides over the meetings with ease. He has formed great relationships with all our board members and local agency partners, offering support any way the District is able.

Not only is Mr. Tate so outstanding with his support of the District, he is a kind and

generous person, making friends wherever he goes. He certainly deserves this recognition and we thank him for his stupendous service!
